Candle and Reed Diffuser Care

We will ensure your wick is cut to the correct length for the first time you light your CandleSmyth candle.  Your first burn should be between 2-4 hours until you have achieved a full melt pool, this means that the wax has melted all the way to the edge of the jar.  Please do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time any time you burn it. If it has not achieved a 100% melt pool after 4 hours, it will likely catch up on subsequent burns.  We know this because we have tested tested tested, we have cried cold salty tears over these candles.... bet they don't remember that though, little blighters.

Bringing you a safe product is our number one priority here at CandleSmyth.  Weeks and often months of testing occur before we release any candles for sale.    Please follow these  golden rules:

1.  Never leave a burning candle unattended, not only do they get

lonely, it's just plain dangerous.

2.  Never burn a candle in a draughty place or near anything that could catch alight.

3.  Keep candles well out of the reach of babies, children and animals.

4. Trim your wick before EVERY burn.  Your wick length should be 3-5mm .

5. Don't pick it up when it's hot.  It hurts.  A lot.

We use only eco friendly soy wax from a sustainable source.  It is a natural product produced from extracting oil from Soy Beans, and is biodegradable.  Soy wax burns more cleanly than paraffin wax, with  less soot.  Soy Wax also burns more slowly than paraffin wax, giving you a longer burn time.  If you see uneven surfaces or dips in your candle this is a feature not a bug, remember our products are hand made from high quality ingredients, not mass produced so your product may have its own unique characteristics. Our products are all cruelty free.  Please adhere  to our safety advice to get the best from your CandleSmyth products.

Our Reed Diffusers are all hand poured using high quality fragrances.  They all contain 100ml of scented oil  and you can expect them to give you at least 10-12 weeks of beautiful fragrance.  Please follow these golden rules:

1. Keep well out of reach of babies, children and animals.

2. Do not place your diffuser directly onto polished, painted, plastic or leather surfaces or on electrical equipment, as accidental spillage may cause damage. 

3. Wear gloves when handling reeds.

4. Do not set reeds alight.  I know, I know... but you know how some people roll.
